Kazakhstan, Germany continue oil export negotiations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Kazakhstan has not shipped 20,000 tons of oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline (running through Russia's territory), yet, Askhat Khassenov, the Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

Earlier reports said Kazakhstan will supply 20,000 tons of oil to Germany monthly. Overall, Kazakhstan was willing to export up to 6 million tons of oil annually The oil transit will be carried out through the territory of Russia, which was green-lighted by the Russian authorities.

The vice minister stated that the plan to ship the first batch of oil remains in place.

“Currently, negotiations are underway between the buyer and the supplier. There are no technical limitations. However, There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed during negotiations and this takes time,” Khassenov noted.

He concluded by saying that the oil will be transported via the pipeline once the negotiations between the parties finalize.
