BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the US amounted to $3 billion in 2022, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.
The statement was made during the ministerial meeting of the heads of foreign affairs ministries of Central Asian countries and the US in the C5 + 1 format.
This constitutes an increase of 37 percent compared to the $2.2 billion trade turnover recorded in 2021. The Kazakh FM added that the direct investments of the US amounted to 60 billion over the years.
Tleuberdi thanked the US for their constant support in increasing the potential of Kazakhstan, as well as their technical expertise in the implementation of various projects.
Earlier today, Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, held talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The sides agreed to continue working on increasing cooperation between Kazakhstan and the US in several fields, including energy, trade, investments, and security.
