BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda region is focusing on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Nurlibek Nalibayev, akim (head) of the Kyzylorda region said during a briefing, Trend reports.
According to him, about 23 billion Kazakh tenge ($51.3 million) has been attracted from various sources for financial support of entrepreneurship in the first five months of 2023. In addition, a total of 1,700 projects have been supported.
In addition, a unified nationwide pool of projects has been formed in the region, with 36 projects implemented totaling over 907 billion Kazakh tenge ($2 billion). Last year, the region launched four projects worth 5.1 billion Kazakh tenge ($11.3 million), and this year, nine projects worth 13.4 billion Kazakh tenge ($29.9 million) will be implemented. This will contribute to an increase in investment volume in the region.
Overall, the Kyzylorda region demonstrated positive dynamics in its socio-economic development during the first four months of 2023.
Agricultural production has increased by 1.6 percent, while the manufacturing industry has grown by 1.9 percent. The construction sector has experienced substantial progress, with a 44 percent increase in construction volumes and a 2.4 percent rise in housing construction. Additionally, trade activities have expanded by 2.5 percent, and investment inflows have surged impressively by 42.1 percent.
The Kyzylorda region's budget for the current year stands at 593 billion Kazakh tenge ($1.3 billion), marking a 53 percent increase compared to the 2022 budget.
