BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. The prices of apartments in Kazakhstan's secondary market increased by 2.8 percent in May 2023 compared to the same month in the previous year, Trend reports.
According to the country's Bureau of National Statistics, the prices for new apartments also saw an increase of 6 percent year-over-year. Rental fees for well-appointed accommodations in May 2023 also recorded an increase of 26 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
Meanwhile, for the first time, housing prices across all segments remained unchanged on a monthly basis (May 2023 compared to April 2023).
In terms of the number of property transactions, May recorded 25,588 deals, indicating a decline of 18.6 percent compared to April (31,445 transactions). Leading the way in transaction volume are the cities of Almaty (4,302 transactions, 16.8 percent) and Astana (3,667 transactions, 14.3 percent), as well as Karaganda Region (2,354 transactions, 9.2 percent).
The number of property transactions in May 2023 decreased by 16.1 per compared to the same month last year when 30,500 deals were registered. The largest decline was observed in East Kazakhstan Region (down by 51.7 percent). Negative trends were evident in most regions, with only Astana showing a positive growth of 5.7 percent.
