KazMunayGas, Rosneft Deutschland sign deal to supply oil to Germany

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas national company and Germany's Rosneft Deutschland signed a contract for the supply of crude oil to the PCK Raffinerie refinery in Schwedt, Germany, Trend reports.

According to the company, the seller of the oil is KazMunayGas Trading AG, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, while the buyer is Rosneft Deutschland GmbH, one of the shareholders of the PCK Raffinerie refinery.

The volume of supplies will be 100,000 tons per month until the end of 2023 from the Karachaganak field. The volume of deliveries to Germany in 2023 will be no less than 890,000 tons. Meanwhile, the German side expressed its interest in increasing the volumes of Kazakh oil supplies from other Kazakh oil companies.

In 2022, the German government requested the supply of Kazakh oil via the 'Druzhba' pipeline to the PCK Raffinerie refinery in Schwedt. From February through May of the current year, 190,000 tons of oil have been transported to Germany through the 'Druzhba' pipeline, with a planned shipment of 100,000 tons for June.

Previously, the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the 'Druzhba' pipeline was agreed with the Russian side, with a volume of 1.2 million tons for 2023.
