ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 16. The current portfolio of projects of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Kazakhstan exceeds 2.7 billion euros, which is calculated for the implementation of 112 active portfolio projects, Trend reports.
According to the bank's data, investments in sustainable infrastructure projects account for 71 percent of the overall portfolio (1.96 billion euros).
The industry, commerce, and agribusiness sectors also benefit significantly from EBRD's investments, with projects worth approximately 683 million euros, making up around 25 percent of the portfolio.
Furthermore, the EBRD's support for the financial sector of Kazakhstan, with investments in financial institutions comprising 4 percent of the portfolio, amount to 108 million euros.
As evident from the latest facts sheet, only in 2022, the EBRD invested some 480 million euros in 14 projects in Kazakhstan. Overall, the EBRD's cumulative investments in the country during the years of its operations in the country totaled over 9.7 billion euros in 310 projects.
