ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 28. The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan is actively preparing for the introduction of a regulation restricting the right to export coal. The proposal is currently under active discussion, Trend reports.

In the coming months, it is planned to promote the decree, according to which the export of coal will be allowed only to specialized entities, including companies engaged in the mining and processing of coal. Previously, affiliated companies were also engaged in activities in this area.

A representative of the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, Turar Zholmagambetov, said that last year, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia, coal prices rose sharply. Supporting this initiative, he stressed the need to grant the right to export coal only to specialized organizations that have extensive experience in the mining and processing of this raw material.

This measure is aimed at preventing illegal practices and speculation in the coal market. In the last period, there were cases of coal exports outside the country in violation of the rules and to the detriment of social needs, such as the supply of schools, hospitals, and the population.

According to Turar Zholmagambetov, in light of the ongoing sanctions against Russia and the increasing need for coal in the European Union, it is important to maintain control over exports and ensure a stable supply for the domestic market.
