ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 29. The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan provided data on the size of the construction materials market in the current year, Trend reports.
According to the agency, the volume of the construction materials market for the first six months of 2023 amounted to $1 billion (750 billion tenge).
Additionally, it is noted that for the period from January through June 2023, there was an increase in production in physical terms in the following categories: refractory products (+14 percent); ceramic non-fireproof bricks (+38 percent); silicate and slag bricks (+1 percent); gypsum board (+0.3 percent); construction mortars (+13 percent).
Simultaneously, a decrease in production volumes was noted in the following areas: ceramic facing bricks (-2 percent); cement clinkers (-6 percent); Portland cement (-4 percent); hydrated, quicklime, and hydraulic lime (-9 percent); gypsum (-48 percent); concrete products for construction purposes (-13 percent); tiles, slabs, bricks, and similar products made of cement, concrete, or artificial stone (-5 percent); prefabricated concrete structures (-0.6 percent); ready-mixed concrete (-17 percent); and other items.
