ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 17. As part of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China, a number of documents were signed between the two countries in the fields of energy, transport, investment, the transfer of production technologies, etc., Trend reports.
A total of 30 commercial documents were signed for a total amount of $16.54 billion. Among them were:
- Agreement between KazMunayGas JSC (Kazakhstna's national company) and CITIC Group on mutual understanding to promote a project to increase the processing capacity of the CASPI BITUM LLP plant to 1.5 million tons of oil per year;
- Cooperation agreement between Kazpost JSC and YTO Express Group;
- Framework agreement between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (Kazakhstan Railways, national company) and CRRC Corporation Limited on cooperation and acquisition of CRRC Corporation Limited products (trade agreement);
- Bilateral statement by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China National Petroleum Corporation on the extension of the subsoil use contract;
- Cooperation agreement between Samruk-Kazyna JSC (Kazakh Fund) and China Power International Holding, SANY Renewable Energy Co.Ltd were signed.
- Agreement on cooperation between KazMunayGas JSC and China National Offshore Oil Corporation;
- Agreement on cooperation between QazaqGaz JSC (Kazakhstan's national company) and Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation;
- Natural gas purchase and sale agreement between QazaqGaz JSC and Petrochina International Co.Ltd. and others were signed.
In 2022, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with China amounted to $24.1 billion, which is 34.1 percent more than a year earlier. Exports from Kazakhstan increased over the year by 34.7 percent, to $13.2 billion.
The share of Kazakhstan's exports to China accounted for a significant 15.6 percent of the country's total trade turnover. Imports from China to Kazakhstan grew by 33.5 percent over the year, to $11 billion. China's share in the structure of imports of Kazakhstan amounted to 21.9 percent.
