ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 18. Representatives of German business expressed interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the transport industry, in particular in the railway transport, mechanical engineering, component production, and logistics industries, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Maksat Kaliakparov and representatives of German business in Berlin.
During the negotiations, the vice minister announced plans for the further development of the transport and transit potential of Kazakhstan.
The parties noted the importance of developing and strengthening long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
In addition, issues of holding the conference “Potential Opportunities for Kazakh-German Cooperation in the Field of Railway Technology and Railway Transport,", organized by German companies on the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, were discussed.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany from January through July 2023 amounted to $2.05 billion, which is 60.7 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year ($1.28 billion).
Exports of Kazakhstan to Germany amounted to $304.5 million from January through July 2023, which is 10.5 percent less than the same period last year.
In turn, imports to Kazakhstan from Germany increased by 86.6 percent and amounted to $1.7 billion.
