ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 25. The Kazakh Atyrau Refinery is scheduled to reach its full design capacity in the first ten days of November 2023, KazMunayGas JSC (KMG, Kazakhstan's national company) told Trend.

As the company noted, on October 21, 2023, at the Atyrau Refinery, as part of the interim results of planned preventative maintenance work, the first stage of the plant’s process units was launched.

Daily oil refining is 9,500 tons, and production of commercial products has also begun: gasoline (1,200 tons per day), diesel fuel (1,500 tons per day).

At the remaining installations, the bulk of planned preventative maintenance work has almost been completed. According to the schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is planned to bring the equipment into technological mode one by one.

To date, since the start of planned preventative maintenance work, cleaning of equipment, work on lining furnaces and reactors, replacement of worn-out equipment and catalysts, modification of internal devices of column equipment, and more have been completed. Inspection, inspection, and pressure testing of pressure vessels continue.

In addition, taking into account the requirements of environmental legislation, the plant is implementing a project to install an automated monitoring system (AFS) for emissions into the environment. As part of the planned preventative maintenance work.

all the necessary work for the installation of AFS equipment was carried out on the chimneys of process furnaces.
