Pfizer, Alstom and others sign new contracts for projects in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 17. On the sidelines of the VI Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR), 26 memoranda and commercial documents worth $1.6 billion were signed with several foreign companies, Trend reports.

Contracts were concluded in such sectors of the economy as the agro-industrial complex, mining and metals industry, healthcare, light industry, mechanical engineering, education, production of construction mixtures, and chemical products.

Thus, Pfizer will establish production of the innovative pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 20 in Kazakhstan.

In addition, Calik Holding Company will build a plant for processing legumes in the Kostanay region. The business conglomerate Alarko Holding entered into an agreement with the executive power of Shymkent on the construction of greenhouses.

At the same time, Lasselsberger Group will build a complex for the production of construction adhesives and dry mixes. Roche plans to localize original biotech drugs. Ishiklar Packaging will build a plant for the production of craft paper packaging.

Moreover, Alstom will open a car repair depot and a head service center for servicing electric locomotives in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Over the past years, KGIR has established itself as an effective dialogue platform for strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the international investment community.

This year, the agenda includes such topics as the use of innovative technologies, ensuring food security, developing transport and logistics potential, expanding export opportunities, etc.

The event was attended by representatives of the UK, Vietnam, Germany, Canada, Qatar, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the US, Türkiye, France, the Czech Republic, and several other countries.
