KazTransOil of Kazakhstan raises tariff for oil transit over TON-2 pipeline

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 4. Kazakhstan's KazTransOil JSC will increase the tariff for oil transit through the Tuymazy-Omsk-Novosibirsk-2 (TON-2) oil pipeline from January 1, 2024, Trend reports.

As the company said, the price for oil transit via the TON-2 oil pipeline will be $11.28 per 1 ton per 1000 km (excluding VAT). The new tariff was approved by order of the General Director (Chairman of the Board) of KazTransOil JSC.

Currently, the tariff for oil transit through the territory of Kazakhstan along the Kazakhstan section of the TON-2 main pipeline is 4,292 tenge (about $9.28) per 1 ton per 1000 km (excluding VAT).

Thus, from January 1, 2024, the cost of pumping oil for transit through the territory of Kazakhstan via the Kazakh section of the TON-2 main pipeline will be $2.1 per 1 ton (excluding VAT).

From April 1, 2018, through December 31, 2023, the cost of pumping oil for transit through the territory of Kazakhstan via the Kazakh section is 799.455 tenge (about $1.73) per 1 ton (excluding VAT).

The main oil pipeline, TON-2, passes through the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia. This pipeline supplies oil to the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant and transits Russian oil to China and Uzbekistan.

KazTransOil JSC is the national operator of the main oil pipeline in Kazakhstan and is part of the KazMunayGas JSC group (Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company).

The company owns a diversified network of oil trunk pipelines with a length of 5,400 km.
