ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 8. The construction of the fourth section of the Zhanaozen-Aktau gas pipeline, with a length of 148 kilometers, is planned to be completed by 2025, said the head of the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogaev, Trend reports.
"The construction of the second section of the Beyneu-Zhanaozen main gas pipeline has been completed, and the facility has already been put into operation. Its cost was 180 billion tenge (about $402.7 million) over a length of 308 km. Also, last year, 5.3 billion tenge (about $11.8 million) was allocated from the republican budget for the implementation of the fourth section of the Zhanaozen-Aktau gas pipeline with a length of 148 km. At the moment, 46 kilometers of gas pipelines have been installed. For the current year, 18.4 billion tenge have been allocated from the republican budget. The completion of the project is planned for 2025," he said.
On October 24, 2023, Kazakhstan launched the supply of gas through the second section of the Beyneu-Zhanaozen main gas pipeline, which has a length of 308 km.
The Mangystau region has the highest consumption of natural gas in Kazakhstan. In particular, in 2022, the region accounted for 2.8 billion cubic meters, which is 19 percent of the total demand of the republic’s domestic market.
The launch of the second string of the Beyneu-Zhanaozen main gas pipeline will ensure stable gas supply to populated areas, large industrial facilities, as well as the main energy enterprise of the Mangystau region, MAEK LLP, which generates thermal and electrical energy.
