ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 15. The Chinese Zhicun Lithium Group is interested in implementing promising projects in the lithium industry in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This topic was discussed during a meeting between the Director of the Project Department of KAZAKH INVEST (Kazakhstan's national company), Bauyrzhan Aitkulov, and Hong Wei, the company's Vice President.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and the possibility of investing in projects for the exploration, production, and processing of lithium in Kazakhstan.

Aitkulov informed the company's representatives about the strategic importance of the development of this area, given the country’s significant geological potential for lithium. He noted that the experience of Zhicun Lithium Group can contribute to geological exploration work, with the further prospect of building a processing plant for the production of lithium salts and powders.

In turn, Hong Wei pointed out that Kazakhstan has great potential in the lithium industry.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness for long-term cooperation and technology transfer in this vital industry sector.

Notably, Zhicun Lithium Group is one of the largest Chinese companies specializing in the full-cycle production of lithium batteries. This company occupies 15 percent of the Chinese market for the production of lithium carbonate.
