ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 20. The total volume of main pipelines and sea oil transportation of KazMunayGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company of Kazakhstan) amounted to 21.541 million tons from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

According to KMG data, the volume of oil transportation through main pipelines increased by 7.9 percent and amounted to 18.081 million tons. The increase was due to a rise in the transportation of export volumes of oil to Europe, as well as an increase in the volume of oil transit and oil shipments from the port of Aktau.

In addition, the total volume of transportation of oil by sea in the reporting period increased by 65.2 percent to 3.46 million tons due to increased volumes in the Mediterranean and Caspian Seas.

At the same time, the increase in transportation volumes in the Mediterranean Sea occurred mainly due to oil transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, and the increase in volumes in the Caspian Sea is associated with a rise in transportation volumes along the routes Aktau port - Makhachkala port and Aktau port - Baku port.

Meanwhile, the volume of Kazakh oil exports from the port of Aktau along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline increased to 1.392 million tons in 2023, which is 5.5 times more compared to 2022 (from 250,000 tons).

Furthermore, the volume of oil and gas condensate production by KazMunayGas amounted to 23.5 million tons (486,000 barrels per day) in 2023. The volume of oil and gas condensate production grew by 6.5 percent in 2022.

At the same time, natural and related gas output climbed by 14.8 percent over the reporting period, reaching 9.45 billion cubic meters.
