ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 30. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company) and the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) have signed a memorandum of cooperation, Trend reports.

According to KMG, the document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of KMG Askhat Khassenov and the Executive Vice President of JOGMEC Mori Hiroyuki.

The memorandum assumes cooperation in the field of exploration and production of oil and natural gas.

"We are confident that the signing of a memorandum of cooperation will be an important impetus for further interaction between our companies and will open up new prospects in the field of exploration and production of hydrocarbons," Khassenov said.

The parties also agreed on cooperation in the development of human resources, including the exchange of experience, knowledge, and technology between KMG and JOGMEC.
