London hosts VI conference Oil, gas and mineral resources of Kazakhstan

(KAZINFORM) - The sixth annual international conference Oil, gas and mineral resources of Kazakhstan has been opened today in London city. Popularity of this measure among political and business circles caused participation of more than 300 delegates in it; Kazinform refers to press service of Kazakhstans Embassy to Great Britain.

The first day of the forum Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Baktykozha Izmukhambetov will inform the participants of condition of Kazakhstani fuel and energy complex, realization of the state program on development of Kazakhstani sector of Caspian Sea, existing and future transport routes of Kazakhstans hydrocarbon material to world markets and plans on development of petrochemical productions in the country, reports Trend.

Participation of representatives of political and business elite of Great Britain is traditional in such a conference. This time British Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks, Chairman of British-Kazakh community Lord Frazer and many others will take part in it. During the formal supper that will be organized by British-Kazakh community in honor of Kazakh official delegation there will be considered prospects of Kazakh energy industry development, investment opportunities for foreign capital and increasing role of the republic as an energy supplier at world market.

Director of KazMunaiGaz National Company U. Karabalin, Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Kazakhstan M. Sartbayev, Chairman of Sustainable Development Fund Kazyna K. Kelimbetov and Director of the group on work with KazMunaiGaz holding company Samruk G. Keshubayev will make speeches in the framework of the meeting as well.

On June 29 Kazakh and British energy ministers will hold bilateral talks on issues of opportunities to develop cooperation in the sphere of energy, further steps on realization of intergovernmental memo on cooperation in energy sphere as of June 29, 2005, Kazakhstans participation in realization of the initiative of British Prime Minister Tony Blair on increase of transparency of extractive industries and etc.

Last day of the conference Kazakh side will be represented by the President of Development Bank of Kazakhstan A. Sembinov, Vice President of JSC R. Tursunbayev who will acquaint the audience with additional investment opportunities of Kazakh economy.
