Astana, Beijing conclude agreement on partnership

(gazeta.kz) - Kazakhstan and China have concluded an agreement on establishment of partnership relations between the capitals of the two states. The document has been signed today, November 16, in Astana at a meeting between Askar Mamin. Mayor of Astana, and Liu Qi, Secretary of Beijing Party Committee, Member of Politburo of the Communist Party of China.

The agreement was inked by Lu Hao, Vice Mayor of Beijing, and Bolat Smagulov, Vice Mayor of Astana, reports Trend.

"This agreement will serve as a basis for identifying our relationship. Our meetings will allow us to co-operate in a closer contact," - he said.

A press release issued by the city administration says that the agreement will allow both parties on the basis of the equality and mutual benefit principles to develop multilateral exchange and co-operation in economics, trade, science, technique, culture, education, sports, healthcare, and other areas.

Liu Qi, Secretary of Beijing Party Committee, Member of Politburo of the Communist Party of China, has also been received by Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, today, November 16, in his capital residence.

"The President highly estimated development of the relationship between Kazakhstan and China, including the relationship between political parties. We will by all means develop our cultural, economic co-operation, as well as ties between the capitals of our states," - Liu Qi said at a briefing after the meeting.
