The customs officers of Jambyl province of Kazakhstan detained a Kyrgyz citizen tried to sneak home about 60 kilograms of marijuana, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports.

According to the press release of the regional department of customs control, on Thursday a 45-year old man was detained by officers of the Sypatay Batyr customs post on the territory of the Merke district while patrolling the customs border of Kazakhstan, 24.kg reported.

Reportedly, 58.8 kilogram of marijuana were found in the bags of the detained person, which he was carrying across the border.

A criminal case is filed, the arrested person is put in temporary detention centre.
