Kyrgyz Government is preparing new draft agreement with Canadian Centerra Gold Inc., Khabar news agency reported on November 25.
The announcement was made by Economy Minister Temir Sariyev at a press-conference.
According to Sariyev, the new agreement envisages increasing Kyrgyzstan's share in the Kumtor mine up to 67 per cent.
"I do not know whether the Canadian side will agree with such conditions or not, " Sariyev said.
He added that the government continues negotiating with the Canadian company.
"During the memorandum discussions, Centerra's representatives asked quite a lot of questions. Currently we are preparing a complete package of draft agreements," Sariyev said.
Riots took place in Kyrgyzstan this year. The rioters demanded the cancellation of the contract with the operator of the Kumtor mine -Ganterra Gold and asked for it to be nationalised.
