BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Kyrgyzstan significantly increased imports of passenger cars from Georgia in the first 7 months of this year, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Committee, Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2022 imported cars from Georgia in the amount of $9.9 million, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period in 2021 ($4.1 million).
Thus, Georgia in this period ranked first among the main countries exporting cars to Kyrgyzstan (6,200 units), followed by Russia - 3,688 units and South Korea (3,331).
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan almost tripled the overall import of cars compared to the same period of last year (6,432) - up to 18,881 units.
The total value of Kyrgyz imports of cars amounted to $166.5 million, which is more than a twofold increase over the same period in 2021 ($71.7 million).
