BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. South Korea will provide a loan of $27 million to renovate Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Tilek Mamadaliev said, Trend reports via Kyrgyz media.

According to him, the Export-Import Bank of Korea will allocate $27 million to Kyrgyzstan in the form of a loan for a period of 40 years. The funds will be spent on the construction of an additional building for 130 beds, with modern equipment, a hospital information system, training medical staff.

“Today, the hospital provides emergency care to patients who suffer from infectious pathologies. Currently, the Republican Clinical Hospital is designed for 500 beds with an intensive care unit for 530 patients. The building was constructed in the 1950s and needs modernization," Mamadaliev said.

Meanwhile, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is implementing in Kyrgyzstan 10 projects worth more than $48 million, in public administration, agriculture, digitalization, healthcare and regional development, along with a human resource development program and a volunteer program.
