BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Large Kyrgyz enterprise specializing in development of gold deposits - Kyrgyzaltyn and Berezovsky Rudnik, a large Russian mining enterprise, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Russian Yekaterinburg, Trend reports with reference to Kyrgyzaltyn.
“The main goal of the memorandum is to ensure effective subsoil management activities in the field of solid mineral exploration. Within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to apply advanced technologies for extracting gold by a modern method,” Kubat Abdraimov, Chairman of the Management Board of Kyrgyzaltyn said, adding that this approach will make gold mining in Kyrgyzstan less expensive.
Furthermore, the parties expressed interest in minimizing the impact of mining operations on the environment, as well as in sharing the experience between the companies' employees.
Meanwhile, the big gold extracting company in Kyrgyzstan Kumtor Gold produced 556,375 ounces or 17,305 kg of gold from the ores (including the ores from warehouses, that were mined previously) in 2022, which exceeded the estimated plan of 17,200 kg.
According to the State Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan exported 290 kg of gold in 2022, which is a substantial drop from the same period of 2021 (24 tons).
