BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 30. Countries within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will become the primary importers of Kyrgyzstan's grapes in the first half of 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, during this period, the country exported 374.3 tons of fresh and dried grapes, which is a rise of 38 percent or 104.7 tons year-on-year.
The total value of these exports amounted to $337,800, which is a 3.3-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($102,300). The buyer countries include Russia with 244 tons, Kazakhstan with 128 tons, and Mongolia with 2.3 tons.
This increase in exports can be attributed to a rise in deliveries to Kazakhstan (up by 2.3 times) and Russia (up by 1.2 times).
Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the countries of the EAEU amounted to $1.995 billion from January through June 2023, declining by 6.6 percent year-on-year. It accounted for 29.8 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover.
The exports from Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU countries totaled about $639 million, accounting for 48.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan's exports.
