BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 25. Kyrgyzstan imported a total of 28,153 tons of oil products, valued at $15.195 million, from Kazakhstan from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan indicates that the volume of these imports increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022, when it was 25,472 tons. The value of the imports also rose by 51.5 percent, up from $10.033 million in the corresponding months of 2022.
During this reporting period, Kazakhstan was the second-largest supplier of oil products to the country. Russia held the top position, exporting 303,358 tons valued at $221.246 million. Uzbekistan came in third, sending 4,770 tons worth $3.703 million.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 347,072 tons of oil products from January through August 2023, which is a decline of 33 percent compared to the same period in 2022 (517,639 tons).
The value of these imported goods amounted to $267.386 million, a drop of 29 percent compared to $373.659 million recorded from January through August 2022.
Kyrgyzstan's imports from Kazakhstan totaled $546.152 million in the first 8 months of the current year, which is a 12-percent decrease year-on-year.
