Kyrgyzstan's money transfer inflow drops in 2023

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 15. Individuals transferred $2.706 billion to Kyrgyzstan in 2023 through international money transfer systems, Trend reports.

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan states that this amount is 12.3 percent, or $380.4 million less, than the one in 2022. The majority of the money came from CIS countries, totaling $2.550 billion. Specifically, $2.531 billion came from Russia, and $16.7 million came from Kazakhstan.

From non-CIS countries, $155.300 million was sent to Kyrgyzstan, with $45.3 million from the USA, $17.5 million from Türkiye, and $92.4 million from other countries.

In December 2023, individuals transferred $258.8 million to Kyrgyzstan, which is $14.7 million more than the previous month and $47.7 million more than December 2022. The bulk of these transfers, totaling $245.100 million, came from CIS countries, with $244.7 million from Russia. From non-CIS countries $13.7 million was sent to Kyrgyzstan in December 2023.
