BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 17. Kyrgyzstan imported 50,397 passenger cars from South Korea in 2023, with imports valued at $434.868 million, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that the volume of imports rose by 4.7 times compared to 10,604 cars in 2022. The value also increased by 5.5 times from $78.682 million in 2022.
South Korea was the second largest importer of cars by Kyrgyzstan in 2023. China ranked first with 79,131 cars valued at $1.197 billion, while Russia ranked third with 14,437 cars valued at $143.084 million.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 184,789 passenger cars in 2023, which is a 4.4 times increase compared to 2022 (41,241 cars). The value of imports reached $2.766 billion, a 5.1 times increase from $538.852 million in 2022.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.66 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022. The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year. Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than in 2022.
