BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 20. Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan's trade turnover reached $3.503 million in January 2024, a 2.2-fold increase over the equivalent month in 2023 ($1.578 million), Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, exports
totaled $226,000, a 24 percent reduction from January 2023's record
of $297,300.
In contrast, Kyrgyzstan's imports from Turkmenistan totaled $3.277
million, a 2.5-fold increase from $1.284 million the previous
year.
Turkmenistan contributed 0.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan's trade.
Turkmenistan received 0.1 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total exports,
while imports accounted for 0.3 percent.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $1.168 billion in
January 2024, a 36.8 percent increase over January 2023. Exports
totaled $181.3 million, representing a 46.6 percent rise year over
year. Imports grew 35.1 percent from January 2023 to $987.5
million.
