Kyrgyzstan's exports of precious metal ores and concentrates drop

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 10. Kyrgyzstan exported 14,660 tons of precious metal ores and concentrates from January through March 2024, which is 37.7 percent less than the 23,545 tons exported in the first quarter of 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these exports reached $31.367 million, a 39 percent decrease from $51.399 million in January–March 2023.

During this period, Kyrgyzstan exported precious metal ores and concentrates to two countries. Kazakhstan received 12,117 tons valued at $26.439 million, and China imported 2,543 tons valued at $4.928 million.

To note, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.723 billion from January through March 2024, which is 29.8 percent more than in the corresponding months of 2023.

Exports amounted to $510.9 million, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to January through March 2023. Imports, compared to the same period in 2023, grew by 33 percent, reaching $3.213 billion.
