BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 1. Kyrgyzstan is set to establish a new trade and logistics city named Manas near its capital Bishkek, Trend reports.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved an amendment to the investment agreement with the Kyrgyz-Chinese Investment Holding concerning the Eurasian Trade and Logistics Complex project. The project has been rebranded as Trade and Logistics City Manas. The original agreement, signed on December 8, 2023, in Bishkek, was updated.

The head of the Alamudun district has been directed to allocate 456 hectares of land for the project, which will be granted for 49 years.

As per the document, a management company will be established with a 51 percent ownership stake, while the remaining 49 percent will be held by the government. As residential complexes are completed, 10 percent of the residential space will be transferred free of charge to state ownership.

The country's National Investment Agency reported earlier that the investment in the project will total $700 million. Manas will feature a trade city, an international exhibition center, a warehouse and logistics hub with bonded zones, marketplaces for large equipment, as well as residential and hotel complexes, according to the Cabinet.
