BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. Petrol and diesel prices in Tajikistan remained unchanged last week, Trend reports the World Food Programme (WFP) 'Market Situation Update' for Tajikistan for January 16 through 22, 2023.
According to the WFP, the average gasoline price (per 1 liter) in the retail markets of Tajikistan as of January 16 reached 8.3 somoni ($0.80), remaining unchanged compared to December 2022.
"During the reporting period, the lowest prices of gasoline per 1 liter were recorded in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe - 7.4 somoni ($0.73). At the same time, the highest price was registered in Murgob - 11 somoni ($1.07), " said the report.
As of January 25, 2023, the official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Tajikistan is 10.27 TJS/1 USD.
WFP Tajikistan, in partnership with the Neksigol Mushovir advisory organization, has been monitoring commodity prices in markets across the country. The price data is collected through the network of field enumerators. For each commodity, multiple traders are interviewed, and the average prices are recorded.
