Agricultural production in Tajikistan's Khatlon region growing

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The agricultural production volume in Tajikistan's Khatlon region, situated in the southwest of the country, has increased from January through May 2023, Trend reports.

The Department of Statistics of Khatlon region data shows that a total of 355,671 tons of vegetables were produced in the region during the first five months of 2023.

The figure increased 13.1 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022. Additionally, the region saw a substantial growth of 78.4 percent in melon production, with a total of 10,211 tons being harvested during the same time frame.

Meantime, a total of 17,166 tons of fruits were produced in the region from January through May 2023, which is 36.5 percent more than in the same period of 2022.

Of them, 13,847 tons of fruits were produced state-owned and dehkan farms (large private farms that belong to legal entities) in the region, which is 2,727 tons more than the same period in 2022.
