DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 28. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) believes that the demand dynamics in Tajikistan's economy remain positive, Trend reports.

According to the EDB, retail sales in the country grew by 11.4 percent year-on-year from January through July 2023, following an increase of 10.4 percent from January through June 2023.

Additionally, there was a 38.3 percent year-on-year increase in investments during the reporting period, after a 27.1 percent year-on-year growth from January through June 2023.

At the same time, the dynamics of production growth are declining. Industrial growth stood at 1.1 percent year-on-year from January through July 2023 (compared to 10.3 percent in January - June). The agricultural sector's growth amounted to 4 percent year-on-year (compared to 7.9 percent in January - June).

In general, EDB's analysts believe that the slowdown in the production sectors will contribute to a reduction in the overall economic growth rate of Tajikistan by the end of 2023.
