DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 28. A total of 16 state investment projects are currently being implemented in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in the eastern part of Tajikistan, Trend reports.
According to the authority of the region, these projects are aimed at improving conditions in education, healthcare, transportation, irrigation, and shore protection facilities.
It was noted that the funds disbursed within the framework of these projects have surpassed 1.3 billion somoni ($118.3 million), which is 703.1 million somoni ($64 million) more than the same period last year.
Saadi Kodirzoda, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management, previously said that Tajikistan is currently executing 82 state investment projects with a total value of 49.1 billion somoni ($4.5 billion).
These projects include 17 energy-related initiatives valued at 873 million somoni ($80 million) and 14 transportation projects with a total investment of 1.315 billion somoni ($120.5 million).
