DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 26. More than 4,000 citizens of Tajikistan arrived in the Novosibirsk region of Russia from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the Federal State Statistics Service for the Novosibirsk region reveals that, during the period, over 2,800 people from the region went to Tajikistan. As a result, the net migration gain in the Novosibirsk region from Tajikistan amounted to 1,233 individuals.
Tajikistan had the highest number of migrants arriving in the Novosibirsk region compared to the other countries. From the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the region also received 2,700 people from Kazakhstan, 1,100 from Kyrgyzstan, 608 from Uzbekistan, and 208 from Azerbaijan. The migration flow from non-CIS countries was minor.
In total, migration inflow in the Novosibirsk region, including international, interregional, and intraregional migrations, amounted to 39,200 individuals from January through July 2023. The figure is 3,000 higher than in the same period in 2022. International migration accounted for 9,200 people, with only 0.1 percent of them coming from non-CIS countries.
