DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 27. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 38 industrial enterprises have been registered and started operating in Khujand city in the Sughd region of Tajikistan, as of September 27, Trend reports.
This statement was made during a meeting of the city's deputies. Previously, it was reported that 34 new small and medium-sized industrial enterprises started operations in Khujand during the first half of the year.
Khujand is one of the major industrial centers in Tajikistan and makes a significant contribution to the country's economic development. Every year, the city's enterprises export products to 45 countries worldwide, with a total value exceeding $300 million.
Earlier, during a working meeting, the head of the Sughd region, Rajabbay Ahmadzoda, announced plans to construct more than 12,000 different facilities in the region.
The total volume of industrial output in the Sughd region reached 126.8 million somoni ($11 million) from January through June 2023, and agricultural production amounted to 506.1 million somoni ($45.9 million).
