DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 28. A total of 1.118 million tons of milk was produced in Tajikistan in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistical Agency under the President of Tajikistan, this figure increased by 5.1 percent compared to 2022.
Moreover, the country produced 1.223 billion eggs last year, which is 1 percent higher than in 2022.
As of January 1, 2024, the number of large horned cattle in Tajikistan amounted to 2.662 million animals, which is 108,100 animals or 4.2 percent more than at the same date of 2023.
The value of agricultural production in Tajikistan reached 63.028 billion somoni ($5.753 billion) in 2023. Compared to the same period in 2022, it increased by 9 percent. Crop output grew by 6.8 percent, reaching 43.365 billion somoni ($3.958 billion), while livestock production increased by 14.1 percent, reaching 19.662 billion somoni ($1.794 billion).
