Peace and political stability reign in Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov said in an interview with Turkish media outlets on the eve of his visit to Ankara. Turkmen press also published the interview on Tuesday.
"Public peace and political stability, consistent increase in population's income, social security - all these are an obvious confirmation of the high level of the people's welfare," he said.
Berdimuhammadov emphasized that Turkmenistan has made "impressive progress in almost all spheres -- in agriculture, construction, and social protection over the past five years. An extensive benefits system has also been created to provide the population with modern comfortable housing and other living conditions."
"I consider the substantial increase in the living standards a major achievements in recent years. You can make sure without any word: it is enough just walk through the streets of our towns and villages to see the harmony of the ancient customs of our people and the great modern tradition," he said.
