Ukraine has proposed that Turkmenistan should simplify its visa system, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Caspian country Baimyrat Hodzhamuhammedov, the Department of Information and Communication of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine said.

"Ukraine has a visa free regime with more than 40 countries. However, we have still retained the visa system with Turkmenistan. Let's introduce visa free travel for businessmen as a first stage, and discuss the issue of a visa free system for the rest of our citizens on the second stage," the head of the Ukrainian government said.

It is also noted that Minister of Economic Development and Trade Petro Poroshenko suggested that the current visa system hinders the participation of Ukrainian companies in tenders held in Turkmenistan. He added that tenders are held within 20 days, and Ukrainian businessmen sometimes do not have time to get a visa to participate. Trade between the two countries has tripled during recent years.

The information indicated that the exchange of Trading Houses will contribute to the enhancement of trade and economic relations.
