Turkmenistan, Israel hold political consultations

The political consultations were held between the Turkmen and Israeli foreign ministries in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said Nov. 11.
Tel Aviv's delegation was headed by the director of the Caucasus and Eurasia department under the Israeli foreign ministry Oded Joseph.
"The sides appreciated the effective development of mutually beneficial cooperation," a statement says. "They expressed an opinion that the regular political consultations are one of the important mechanisms contributing to the promotion of Turkmen-Israeli comprehensive partnership."
A political dialogue, successfully developing as part of the international organizations, primarily, the UN, remains the foundation of the cooperation.
The sides discussed the aspects of cooperation in trade, health, agriculture and water resources, stressing the importance of holding the joint business forums.
Israel has taken active part in the reconstruction of an oil refinery in the Caspian Turkmenbashi city, which is the largest refinery in Turkmenistan. Israeli companies were also involved in the agricultural sector of the country.
