New oil and gas minister appointed in Turkmenistan

Myratgeldi Meredov has been appointed the new Minister of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan, by a corresponding decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The former head of the office Muhammetnur Halylov was appointed director of the Research Institute of Natural Gas of "Turkmengaz" State Concern according to the decree.
In addition, for further improvement of the activity of the institutions related to the country's oil and gas industry, the president of Turkmenistan signed a decree approving the structure of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Oil and Gas.
Turkmenistan - one of the key suppliers of natural gas in the Caspian region, which supplies raw materials to China and Iran. Among projects under discussion: an additional pipeline to Russia (the Caspian- via Kazakhstan), to Europe (Trans-Caspian -via Azerbaijan). Turkmenistan started a gas pipeline construction to Pakistan and India (TransAfghan) in Dec.2014.
