A three-day Central Asian International Ecological Forum, titled “Climate Change and Water Cooperation in Context of Sustainable Development in Central Asia”, has kicked off in Ashgabat.

A three-day Central Asian International Ecological Forum, titled “Climate Change and Water Cooperation in Context of Sustainable Development in Central Asia”, has kicked off in Ashgabat.

Officials from the governments of Central Asian countries, international and regional organizations, diplomatic missions, environmental protection experts, and representatives of civil society are taking part in the forum.

The forum will serve as a multilateral platform promoting environmental sustainability in the region, identifying joint regional processes and actions by linking them with the global environmental agenda.

The forum’s tasks are to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue in order to intensify cooperation in the field of environment and sustainable development in Central Asia, boost joint efforts of Central Asian countries in solving regional environmental problems, formulate and agree upon joint actions to be taken based on discussions, and link the joint actions with the global environmental agenda.
