The regular session of bilateral political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates has been held in Abu Dhabi, according to the information published on the website of Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.
The delegations of both countries were headed by the countries’ deputy foreign ministers. Priority areas of the bilateral partnership topped the agenda of the talks.
During the meeting, the sides analyzed the implementation of interstate agreements. The UAE side has reaffirmed its commitment to further expand relations with Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed the issues of strengthening trade and economic relations, while noting the positive dynamics and growth in bilateral trade. The role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Emirate commission was also stressed.
The parties discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest stressing the need to continue bilateral consultations in international organizations, primarily in the UN and its specialized agencies.
The Emirate side expressed satisfaction with the policy of positive neutrality pursued by Turkmenistan and its initiatives in energy, transport and security fields.
