President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov visited temporary training ground of air defense forces having familiarized himself with technical equipment, state news agency Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary (TDH) reported on Feb. 12.
Turkmenistan is committed to its neutral status, principal points of which form a basis of state foreign policy and its peacekeeping role on international scene, according to the president, said the report.
Berdimmuhamedov said that military power of the national army of Turkmenistan serves solely peaceful purposes and doesn’t threaten security of other countries.
“Neutral Turkmenistan is not involved in any military alliances and blocs, or in local and regional conflicts, but at the same time it has a firm attitude resolutely coming out against all manifestations of international terrorism, extremism and other threats to humanity,” the message of TDH said.
The president highlighted that main goals of prospective state defense policy are to supply the armed forces with modern equipment, high-fidelity complexes and intellectual systems and to guarantee all the required conditions and necessary amenities for successful service of officers and soldiers.
