By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the board of Turkey's Calik Holding group of companies Ahmet Calik, Trend reports referring to the local TV channel Altyn Asyr.

The businessman reported on the development of a number of joint projects, and, in particular, ongoing work on the construction of a 500 kilovolt power transmission line along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline.

The president drew attention to the fact that the high quality of construction work is the Turkmen side’s indispensable condition.

Turkmenistan is already supplying electricity to neighboring Afghanistan. The power stations and high-voltage power lines were built in Turkmenistan to increase supply volumes.

Earlier, the Turkmen Ministry of Energy said that there are opportunities to transit Turkmen electricity through Afghanistan to Tajikistan, Pakistan and India.

Turkmenistan plans to generate electricity up to 35.5 billion kilowatt-hours by 2030.
