The Tejenkarbamid plant in Turkmenistan intends to attract foreign investors in order to increase its production capacity, Deputy Prime Minister Charymurad Purchekov said, Trend reports citing the ORIENT information portal.

According to Purchekov, at the moment proposals of foreign investors for re-equipment of the Tejenkarbamid plant are being considered with the expectation of borrowed funds with the products of the enterprise.

He also stressed that domestic urea fertilizers not only meet the domestic needs of the country, but are also exported. To increase the supply of these products to foreign markets, technological upgrades of the industry are envisaged with the attraction of foreign investment.

The Tejenkarbamid plant for the production of carbamide is part of Turkmenhimiya State Concern. The construction of the Tejenkarbamid plant began in 2001 in Tejen city of Turkmenistan and was commissioned in 2006 as the first fertilizer plant in Turkmenistan.
