BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov presented to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposals to enhance the country's cooperation with the EU in trade, economic, energy, transport and communication, humanitarian and cultural spheres, in the field of ecology, as well as to strengthen the legal framework of the partnership.

Meredov presented these proposals during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

During the report on the ongoing work on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, the Head of the Turkmen Foreign Policy noted the expediency of expanding productive cooperation within the framework of the "Turkmenistan-EU" Joint Committee, the "EU-Central Asia" format and the "Turkmenistan-EU" Interparliamentary Dialogue.

Following the results of the report, the president stressed that the development of a constructive dialogue with the EU is one of the key vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

To this end, Berdimuhamedov instructed the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue relevant work in this direction, taking into account the available opportunities and prospects for the practical realization of the diverse potential of mutually beneficial cooperation with European partners.
