BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Turkmenabat Cotton Spinning mill located in the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan has increased production figures for 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, during the reporting period, the enterprise produced more than 8,760 tons of cotton yarn. The production growth rate has reached 30 percent compared to 2021.

In value terms, the factory manufactured products worth 166.3 million Turkmen manats ($47.4 million).

More than 1,550 tons of cotton yarn were exported by the enterprise to countries such as the UAE and Türkiye.

Turkmenistan plans to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of over 30 projects in the textile industry by 2025.

Major investments will be directed not only to expanding existing capacities but also to creating more than 10 new production facilities based on current enterprises.

In general, over the years of independence, about $2 billion were invested in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile enterprises.
