BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. The growth rate of Turkmenistan's GDP for the first month of 2023 remained at the level of 6.2 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting held on February 3.
According to him, the volume of capital investments disbursed from all sources of financing in Turkmenistan in January amounted to over 2 billion Turkmen manats ($572.4 million), which is 9.1 percent more than in the corresponding month last year.
He noted that the development of large volumes of investments since the beginning of the year has allowed the launching of new industrial facilities and increasing production potential, and also added that this will make it possible to further improve the social and living conditions of the population and create additional jobs in the regions.
At the meeting, the results of the government's work in the economic sphere for the first month of 2023 were summed up, a number of draft documents were considered and priority tasks of the socio-economic development of the country were discussed.
